I’ve decided I need to do something about my storage situation. My laptop is doing great on free space, so it isn’t an issue. My iMac however is getting full, again. She currently has a 2TB hard drive, partitioned up into Mac, Windows, and a 1.7 TB Storage Partition. I have about 600 GB free on the Storage partition. Its insane! I have WAAY too much video (mostly television series) downloaded. It boggles the mind.
Problem is I watch a lot of TV. But I sit and watch an entire series from beginning to end. Once I’ve finished a series, if its one I really liked I prefer to hang onto it instead of having to get it again. I used to burn DVD’s but they don’t always work when I want to watch them again.
Anyways, here’s the dilemma. I have an external HD enclosure with a 500 GB HD, but it needs a power adapter (the one I have makes scary noises). I could just invest in a bigger drive for it and a power adapter, and just use that for storage to get some crap off my iMac.
OR, I found this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136746
Its a 2TB NAS for not a bad price.
